VKMLA AGM - Your New Executive
Members of the VKMLA voted in their new Executive at the Annual General Meeting held on October 23rd, 2013.
We are pleased to announce the successful reelection of our President, Michael O'Connor; Secretary, Nicole Ferrie; Treasurer, Rick Mainman; and Vice Presidents, Robert Pearsall and Melody Kurt (also Registrar).
We would also like to welcome two new Vice Presidents to the Executive. They are Regina Villanueva and James Esworthy.
We would like to say a big thank you to our outgoing Vice Presidents, Dean Longstaff and Wayne McDonald. They have both contributed so much to the VKMLA over the past years. Your dedication to the Association and the sport of lacrosse is very much appreciated. Again Thank you.
For a complete list of Association Officers and Committee members, please refer to the About Us page.
We would like to thank members of the Executive team for their hard work in ensuring the proper administration of lacrosse in Vancouver. These volunteers do a good job promoting lacrosse year round, and encouraging good citizenship and sportsmanship among members of the association.
Although the Executive team does a tremendous job ensuring the success of our organization, they could use additional help. Each year, at the beginning of box season, there is a formal call for volunteers, however the Association can use volunteers all year round... so if you are willing to spare some time and help out, come to one of the Executive meetings or send an email to our volunteer coordinator or secretary stating your willingness to participate.
Is there something that we can improve upon to make our kids experience better? Do you have ideas for fundraising? Want to promote the sport of lacrosse in Vancouver? Do you wish that we had a newsletter? Do you wish we had more Association functions? Do you wish there was a way to pass down your used lax equipment to younger kids... these are but a few examples of areas where the Association needs volunteers. So let us know if you want to help!

Volunteer Positions Open
The VKMLA receives gaming funds that are critical to the association's
viability. In turn, we must supply volunteers to work short (3 hrs) shifts at Planet Bingo (between 11th and 12th on Main St). Basically, volunteers just assist the "Planet Bingo" staff with
simple duties. Our next dates for fulfilling our obligations are:
Saturday January 08, 2014 - 8pm to 11pm
Saturday February 15, 2014 - 8pm to 11pm
Each bingo volunteer receives a $35 credit towards current or upcoming lacrosse
registration fees (via a refund). If you can volunteer for one or more of these assignments, please contact the Bingo Coordinator for more information.
