Board Members - Voting Positions
The VLMA Executive consists of nine Officers, the President, Vice-President(s), Registrar, Treasurer, and Secretary as well as other key positions. Each executive position is described below. Please note that; board members can assume multiple positions; roles, duties can be amended as required; that each Board member will make necessary efforts to refine and improve all aspects of the association. Board members attend and participate in all VMLA monthly executive meetings.
- President Presides at all general meetings and executive meetings of the Association
- The President generally supervises all the affairs of the Association and is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of the programs of the Association
- Ensures the executive, supervisors, coaches, referees abide by the rules and regulations set out BCLA
- Ensures all aspects of the association meet best practices with respect to player, coach and referee development
- The President also represents the Association at Lower Mainland Minor Lacrosse Commission Meetings and the BCLA Annual Meeting
- Chairs all VMLA executive meetings
- The Vice President shall carry out the duties of the President during their absence and perform such other duties as may be delegated to them in the Bylaws or otherwise and may be asked to take leadership position on special projects as well
- Oversee the Box Lacrosse Portfolio
- Coach coordinator duties in conjunction with the President
- Responsible for recruiting and supervising the Coaches and by extension managing the coaching requirements and training and certification of coaches for the Association
- Manages association – wide communication as it relates to coaches including notification of clinics, rule changes, documentation
- Participates in any disciplinary hearings as required

- Oversee the Equipment Portfolio
- Maintain, distribute and collect VMLA goalie equipment
- Organize distribution and collection of all VMLA Jerseys
- Oversee purchase of all new equipment as needed annually
- Distribute coaching supplies and equipment

- Oversee the Scheduling Portfolio
- The Vice President shall carry out the duties of the President during their absence and perform such other duties as may be delegated to them in the Bylaws or otherwise and may be asked to take leadership position on special projects as well.
- Oversee the Female Field Lacrosse Portfolio
- The Treasurer receives all monies paid to the Association and to deposit the same in a bank designated by the Executive
- Presents all bills or claims against the Association to the Executive and see the same are promptly paid
- Collects all dues, fees or monies owing to the Association
- Keeps an accurate record of all monies received and disbursed
- Have the books of the association audited by an auditor appointed by the Executive
- Make a report which includes a budget for the coming year, at every Annual Meeting of the Association
- Provides monthly written financial report. Attends and participates in all VMLA monthly executive meetings
- Responsible for the administration by filing of all player registration forms
- Ensures that player registrations are filed with BCLA by the deadline and in the form prescribed by BCLA
- Provides registration statistics and mailing lists when requested by the Executive
- Ensures that the proper registration forms are available to the membership at the beginning of each season
- The Registrar shall appoint assistants as needed
- Secretary Attends and records minutes of all Executive meetings and the Annual General Meeting
- Prepares and distributes minutes to the appropriate persons and submits all required reports, documents as required under the Societies Act
- See that all filings required by the Society Act are made
- See that the correspondence of the Association is properly conducted
- Issue notices of meetings of the Association and Directors
- Keep minutes of all meeting of the Association and Directors
- Killarney Community Center Representative
- Represents the VMLA at monthly Killarney Community Associatin KCA meetings
- Liaises with KCA
- Reports relevant issues to VMLA executive
- Responsible for recruiting, paying and supervising the Referees and by extension scheduling the refereeing requirements of the Association
- Key contact with respect to any issues related to referees
- Reports any issues related VMLA referees or other members of VMLA coaching staff to President promptly
- Participates in any disciplinary hearings as required.

information of the association to members and the community through the communication channels of web, email, newsletters and media - To assist in the promotion and marketing of VMLA planned event
- Control and permit usage of the VLMA logo and brand
- Attends and participates VMLA monthly executive meetings as required.
- Responsible for organizing the VMLA annual Sid Dann Tournament
- Attends and participates VMLA monthly executive meetings as required
- Responsible for making sure all volunteer positions are filled and recruits and trains volunteers when necessary

- Responsible for website administration, liaison with hosting service, website updates
