Box Schedule and Age-Specific Information
**** March 17th, 2025: Note: times noted on this page have been updated for the 2025 season. We're getting close to complete with just a few team times remaining to be determined (TBD). Times continue to be subject to change by the coaches.

U7s (ages 5 and 6) typically have the following schedule:
- From March until mid April ("pre-season")
- Saturday and Sunday 9-10am @ South Memorial Box
- From mid-April until mid-June:
- Team 1/2: Practice at Killarney Arena - 10:00 - 11:00am SATURDAY
- Team 1/2: practice / HOME game at Killarney Arena - 8:30-9:30am SUNDAY
Note: games may occasionally happen on other days. This year, U7 will play "in house" meaning they will play largely against the other Vancouver team with occasional games against adjacent city teams.
At this age we play mostly Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby and North Shore teams. It would be very rare have to go beyond those cities.
There is no tiering/ranking of players at this age and all players will play "house" level. Teams are Co-Ed. Games are typically about 35-45 minutes long with no score taken and no penalties given. No body contact is allowed - stick on stick checking only. 2 games are played at once "crossways" with the middle of the floor used as a "bench area".
Players aged 4 turning 5 in the year may be allowed to play - contact the registrar for more information.

U9s (ages 7 and 8) typically have the following schedule:
- From March to mid-April:
- Practice 10-11am Saturdays and Sundays @ South Memorial Box
- From mid-April to mid/late-June:
- Team 1 and 3: Practice at Killarney Community Centre- 9:00am - 10:00pm SATURDAY
- Team 1 and 3: Practice / Game at Killarney Community Centre - 9:30am - 10:30pm SUNDAY
- Team 2: Practice/Game FRIDAY 5:00-6:00pm @ Kitsilano
- Team 2: Practice/Game MONDAY 5:00pm-6:00pm @ Kitsilano
Note: games may occasionally happen on other days. This year, U9 will play "in house" meaning they will play largely against the other Vancouver team with occasional games against adjacent city teams. There is also talk of 1 or 2 jamborees on Saturdays.
At this age we play mostly Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby and North Shore teams. It would be very rare have to go beyond those cities.
There may be one or two tournaments - these are discussed with parents at the season kickoff meeting. Costs for tournaments are shared by all the players. At this age the tournament would almost certainly be somewhere in the lower mainland.
There is no tiering/ranking of players at this age and all players will play "house" level. Teams are Co-Ed. Games are typically about 45-60 minutes long. Players are allowed to place their stick on an opponent who has possession of the ball and push or steer her/him away ("place and push") or check the stick. No cross checking or body checking is allowed. Players will play "crosswise" 3v3 on the rink so two games could be played in parallel with benches taking up the middle portion of the floor. Players may transition to 5v5 full arena play later in the season.

This year we will have 3 teams - one more competitive and the other two focused on development.
U11s (ages 9 and 10) typically have the following schedule:
- March to mid-April ("pre-season")
- Saturday and Sunday 11-12am @ South Memorial Box
- mid-April to June
- All Teams: Combined skills practice SUNDAY 10:30am-12:00am at Killarney
- Team 1: Game MONDAY 600pm-730pm @ Kitsilano Arena
- Team 1: Practice FRIDAY 600pm - 700pm @ Kitsilano Arena (may start at 5:30 TBD)
- Team 2: Practice WEDNESDAY 5:00-6:00pm @ Kitsilano arena
- Team 2: Home Game SATURDAY 11:00am-12:30pm @ Kitsilano
- Team 3: TBD - Killarney based most likely
- Possible occasional Practice times @ South Memorial Box - TBD
Note: HOME game times apply when we are the home team, which is about 40% of the time. We will have AWAY games at other times either on the weekend or weekday evenings. We will receive away game schedules in mid-April and your team manager will communicate the times to you.
Your team may decide to play 1 or 2 tournaments throughout the season as well, usually discussed at the parent meeting in the early season. Costs for these tournaments is shared amongst all players.
Games are typically 60 minutes. At the competitive level Body contact is allowed on the ball carrier and Stick checking is allowed. At the development level no contact is allowed. Teams are typically Co-Ed at this level.

We are very close to having two U13 teams - we are likely to balance both teams into two development teams.
U13s (Age 11 and 12)
- Team 1: Practice SUNDAY 12:00pm-1:30pm @ Killarney Arena
- Team 1: HOME Game Wednesday 6:00pm-7:30pm @ Kitsilano Arena
- Team 2: times and location TBD
- All Teams: Combined Skills Practice Saturday afternoon @ Killarney exact time TBD
Note: HOME game times apply when we are the home team, which is about 40% of the time. We will have AWAY games at other times either on the weekend or weekday evenings. Away schedules are available mid-April and will be communicated to the team by your team manager.
Your team may decide to play 1 or 2 tournaments throughout the season as well, usually discussed at the parent meeting in the early season. Costs for tournaments are shared amongst the players. This age group also has provincials and it is a team decision whether to participate or not.
Players will be ranked into divisions with A being more competitive through to C being more casual "house" level. Games are typically 60 minutes. Body contact and Stick checking is allowed at various levels depending on what division the teams end up in..

U15s (age 13 and 14)
- Practice MONDAY 7:00pm-8:45pm @ Kitsilano Arena
- HOME game FRIDAY 7:00-8:30pm @ Kitsilano Arena
- Practice SATURDAY 11:30am - 1:00pm @ Memorial South Box
- Possibility of another weekday evening or weekend practice TBD

U17 (ages 15 / 16) will have 1 coed and 1 female team. The female team will field players 13 and older.
U17 coed Team (15/16 years old)

U17 Female team (13-16 years old)

- Practice SATURDAY 10:00am-11:30am @ Memorial South Park
- Possible additional practice time TBD

Team division level will be determined during "tiering" in April. There isn't really a "house league" in U17, both divisions are competitive and allow contact. Games are typically 60 minutes. In Coed Body and Stick checking is allowed. In Female U17 body contact is technically not allowed (but you wouldn't know that watching the games)

*** For all ages a mouthguard is mandatory for both practice and games. Your child will not be allowed to practice or play without one.
